I would give this coffee maker 0 stars if I could. First, from the start the carafe required a bit of jiggling to get in its place The coffee it brewed was ok. But the water canister is HORRIBLE. I have had the appliance for 20 months and I woke up to water all over the counter b/c the water canister is now leaking - it is completely unusable. Of course there is no recourse as they do not replace countertop appliances after 12 months. I could buy a new water canister but why spend that money knowing it will likely break as well. I can't believe I spent the money I did on this thing..

Grinder stopped working

We purchased this coffee maker a couple of years ago and it was great until the last 6 months. The grinder doesn't grind the coffee about 75% of the time. In order to brew coffee now I have to stand there and make sure the coffee beans are feeding into the grinder. I've cleaned it and followed all the instructions. I've tried to call but could never get hold of a live person. I'm a bit disappointed and just don't want to spend another $300+ to get a new one.

Coffee is great and product is easy to use. It really needs rollers or some easy design in bringing the appliance back and forth from under the counter. You must lift the whole pot so it makes that part difficult. Also a white cord would have been prettier than black on the white coffee pot.

Our machine broke after 16 months. We got an error that the brew basket wasn™™t locked, when it in fact was locked. GE/cafe does not provide service for their small appliances - they will only replace products that break within 12 months. Since our machine was out of warranty, we were out of luck. For a $300 coffee machine this was an extremely disappointing result. The machine actually make great coffee, but an expensive grind and brew coffee machine should not need to be replaced just after its warranty expires.

We™™ve had it for about over a year and the grinder has consistently crapped out on us. Now it will no longer even feed into the machine despite taking it apart as best we can. This is truly a disappointing machine. I loved it up until now, and I guess we™™ll have to find a different product because the biggest appeal was me not having to worry about the grinding fresh beans. I called customer service for assistance but the only thing that was offered was a long wait time for someone to just read me troubleshooting options.

Leaking from water reservoir

I have used this coffee maker for approximately two years, and the water now leaks continuously from the base of the reservoir, emptying the entire tank onto the floor. I have replaced the filters and maintained the machine according to the instructions, but the issue persists. Given the purchase price, it is disappointing that the unit has developed this problem, and I am uncertain whether replacing the water reservoir would resolve it. At this point, I can only fill the reservoir immediately before starting the grinder to prevent further damage to my kitchen floor.

I purchased the white matte Thermal Carafe. It's a beautiful coffee maker and you will taste the quality of the coffee when brewed. I like that there is three types of brew strengths and you can change the grind size. However, the reason for my three star on this item review is due to a defect on the thermal carafe itself. There seems to be a leak internally where liquid gets inside the internal thermal wall where the lip of the pour and thermal pitcher meet. When I washed it I noticed there was soapy water when I placed the Carafe upside right to dry. I reached out to Carafe support and hope they can send me a new thermal carafe.

If I leave water in the reservoir after brewing, it slowly leaks out...over the LCD screen, which apart film being annoying to clean up, can't be good for the electronics. It™™s a very attractive design. The coffee is well brewed and the app has great features. That said, our malfunction and the grinder simply froze after just 4 months. Luckily, it was under warranty (which is only 12 months), and service was less than pleasant and slow to deal with. Thankfully I had my trusty 24 year old grinder still going to get me through it. Sadly with the $300 price point I am just hoping to get a year use out of this. I do love the pot and its functions and normally would be more optimistic, however scores of other issues in other reviews online have jaded my optimism.

This machine makes a good cup of coffee, which is most important at the end of the day. And it's GORGEOUS on the countertop (albeit large). I also did not experience the leaking issue that others have experienced (I was careful not to over-tighten after inserting the filter and only add water from the top). I take 2 points off for: (1) the grounds get all over the place--under the basket, on the warming unit, on the countertop--after just one brew cycle, and it's annoying to clean; (2) for the price, I'd expect the coffee to stay hot longer and would expect some more brew functions.

We love this coffee maker... The taste we get from freshly ground coffee is remarkably better than pre-ground coffee and now we can't go back! Also, this is truly the only nice looking modern coffee maker. It always draws attention of our house guest and they comment on how cool looking it is. The only downside is that to really keep this machine running well, you need to stick with maintaining it. Make sure to replace the water filter regularly, especially if you live in an area with hard water- otherwise the line will get build-up and stop working. We learned the hard way and just took the filter out after some time, but without the filter, the water line got clogged up and then we couldn't get the machine to work at all... So we're on our second machine. Also, you'll want to make sure to clean the bur grinder, because that too can get clogged and create issues with the machine operating. Otherwise, great taste, and great look... Nothing else quite like it, so this is our perfect choice!

Love my Cafe Grind and Brew coffee maker! Two suggestions for improvement: 1) Why is there a black power cord on a white coffeemaker and on (what most of us have) a white counter? That looks terrible! 2). How about an option for slide verses grip feet? I have to place the coffeemaker on a placemat in order to slide it out from under the cabinet in order to add water and coffee beans.

The real frustration began when we tried to get it replaced. Best Buy directed us to Cafe/GE for support, and when we called, they said someone would follow up with us. It™™s been weeks now and we™™ve heard nothing. We™™ve tried reaching out again with no luck. For a higher-end appliance, we expected much better reliability™"and much better customer service. We have had this for 8 months and want to like it more than we do. It™™s been replaced once already. I™™ve reached out to Crate and Barrel several times with them essentially saying they can™™t do anything. I™™ve reached out to the maufacturer's product support and have tried their recommended troubleshooting without success. Big issues - coffee doesn™™t come out hot - even at highest temperature setting, carafe cools fast and grinder keeps not working (not related to bean quality). Save your money.

Terrible customer service, absolutely useless. After using my machine for almost a year it suddenly stopped brewing. The machine says ™add water™ however the water holder is full. There are no troubleshooting tips and the person I tried to speak to was silent for over 2 minutes I finally said hello? She said ™sounds like it broke™ I™™ll send you an email which of course I never received.

I got the machine unboxed, followed the directions and when I started the brew cycle, I got an error message to "add water". I looked in the user guide and went through the trouble shooting and that did not help. Not sure where to go from here as the carafe looks to be unblocked and I don't see anything weird in the seating feature. Some water did make it through to the grounds, but even after unplugging, restarting, etc., it will only get 5 or 6 seconds into the brew cycle before the "add water message" comes on again.
