Stopped working and terrible service process

Worked for 9 months with minimal use then it stopped working-no heat at all. Looks great in matte black. But™¦GE™™s service through Bodewell finally fixed it after a convoluted process to come out and repair. Then, stopped working again 4 weeks later. Tried to get Bodewell again but they messed up our location for scheduling service-long story. Poor communication skills to say the least. Would like a replacement appliance, but GE won™™t replace™"we™™ve been told, until they™™ve exhausted the repair cycle. Ridiculous. The appliance company that delivered it, is taking the ™replace every part™™ approach. Again ridiculous. When can it just be replaced?? All under warranty at this point. If you try to call GE customer service it™™s Bodewell™¦not worth the hassle and repeat bad processes.

Unit has a sleek look and a lot of features. Inside carousel plate is very loose so you must be careful with liquids. Otherwise I would recommend enlarging writing on buttons. Convection is a nice feature. Be sure to have good ventilation on Left side. Microwave is quite loud when running but it is not a problem.

Lack of Sound on/off control

Please add the sound on/off control. I didn't even think there was a GE microwave made without that feature since our last two GE Profile Microwaves had this feature. One would think when you upgrade to the Cafe level it at least have the basic functions on the GE Profile line?? The salesman said it was in the App, but I downloaded the SmartHQ App and that is not the case. You may not be able to change the control panel on existing units, but maybe you can add the feature thru the App?? The beeping is extremely annoying, especially homes where the microwave is used with others in the home are trying to sleep. Please add this feature. At this point, I've been told I need to have a tech tear it open & clip the wires...seems like a ridiculous solution!

I would never recommend Cafe or any GE products after our experience with their customer support. Firstly, this microwave is falsely advertised. They indicate that it includes features that it does not. After you learn this (which will be after it's installed), they refuse to do anything about it. Zero effort by customer service to help. There are also new features on this microwave, like child lock, that cannot be disabled. So, you'll be forced to unlock your microwave everytime you use it, which is highly annoying. For $1k microwave, you should go elsewhere. I'm completely dissatisfied and can't do anything about it. Well, until the unit breaks in a year or two. This is a replacement for an older version (that actually had the features that are missing from this unit) that had an electrical failure that nearly resulted in a fire. Save your money and go elesehwre.
