I bought 5 A/C's this Spring. 1 stopped working in July and another just stopped today(Sept. 21). I paid $550 each.

We bought 3 units for our apartment from Custom Appliance in Lonbard IL. The compressor and fan turn on and off at the same time making noise. When the fan is off the traffic noise outside wakes us up. There is a DIP switch that can be set to allow the fan to run continuously but the front grill is hard to remove. Also we want the air to recirculate inside air only due to noise outside and dehumidification. This also has to be set up with the grill off. Customers should be asked how they want these units set up rather than leave it all up to the customer.

Unfortunately this is my 2nd GE air cond until i have purchased since 2012 i sure hope this AC until lasts alot longer.
