First night we woke to FL code. So drained it in the morning. Next night, FL code was less than 1 hour using it. So we attached the drain tube to it, put it in a very large mixing bowl and woke to tons of water on the floor. So now we have it in a 5 gal bucket and have to empty it every day. My son has a different brand portable AC in his room and we™€™ve not had to drain it at all this summer! Very disappointed!!

This air conditioner shuts off repeatedly, after very brief operation, with an "FL" indicator of a full water tank. Emptying the tank, which seems to have very little water, helps only for a very short time. This little appliance is effectively useless.

Disappointed - Recurring FL Error Message

The unit starts and stops on its own, especially when I lower the temperature. After only a few hours, it displays an FL error, shuts off, and won™€™t restart until I empty the water tank, even though it contains very little water. This happens repeatedly, forcing me to get up in the middle of the night because I wake up to a hot room. I bought this model because it advertised that the tank rarely needs to be emptied, but that hasn™€™t been my experience. I believe I received a defective unit. Customer support was just as disappointing. Instead of offering a replacement or a practical solution, they left me without any meaningful assistance. Overall, a very frustrating experience.

Personally, I did not love this air conditioner. It did not work well for my room which is 140 square feet. It was cooler turning a fan on. I also do not love that you have to use a tube to get the water out. It would be nice if there was a removable compartment. It would make it a lot easier. It does have wheels which makes transporting it easy. It is pretty loud but so are other air conditioners. For a super small room, I think this would work better. Personally I do not believe it is easy to use and it did not work well for my room, even after being on for hours.

Doesn™€™t fit 36™€ window

I never got around to using the unit because it wouldn™€™t fit my 36™€ window, which it should be able to according to the item description. When I called the customer service number they were extremely unhelpful and it seemed like they were just regurgitating the customer responses on a forum where someone had a similar issue. They suggested to me to cut the window fitting down, which wouldn™€™t work for me because of the irregular lip on the edge, and then when I told them that they told me I would have to call an installer and pay them to fix it on my own dime. They also did not offer a refund, even though the product legitimately did not work as advertised. Very disappointing.

This was an easy setup and I like that it™€™s portable so you can position it as you™€™d like. It is a bit noisy to me but that™€™s a small price to pay for the ability to cool down the barn workspace this summer! It moves a lot of air and cools down pretty quickly. I dropped one star because it really should include a screen covering for the vent pipe to prevent birds and/or bugs from getting in.

Perfect for summer time

I am so glad that I bought this. Just 10m installation, and everything was included. I was surprised that it is very quiet even with highest fan speed. For my small room it only took 10m to cool down. I have not try the dehydration mode but it would be useful on rain season. The timer feature is a nice touch as I can set it to turn off after I went to bed. This makes my summer is more enjoyable.

Im so excited to have this for the upcoming warm weather and so is our siberian husky,Leo. He overheats so easily and I already know he will be spending all his time in the spot cooling off. We have an apartment with no AC so im beyond thrilled.The unit is incredibly easy to put together has a sleek, slim build, and comes with a remote control for fast usage. We're experiencing temperatures in the 30s right now so I didnt put in the window pane yet but the Instruction booklet has directions on how to put together and set up. Looks super simple. Portable AC unit for small rooms

This is a pretty good portable AC unit. Setup was really easy , I was able to set it up by myself fairly quickly . It™€™s the perfect size for a small room . We set it up in small bedroom and it was the perfect size for it . I did feel like it ran a little louder than I would have liked but besides that , it was easy to move and performed well. It has options for cool mode , fan mode , dry mode and quiet mode and speeds ranging from low to high . It did offer quite a lot of options for such a little AC unit . It takes up very little room . It was also much easier for me to set up than a window unit !

Powerhouse solution for small rooms

Despite having a full HVAC set up in our home, our son™€™s room gets so hot during spring and summer. This GE Portable Air Conditioner has been the perfect solution. It™€™s the perfect size for a smaller room, and is lightweight but functions very well in cooling a room quickly, and quietly. The controls are easy to use and intuitive and the remote is super convenient for nighttime. Setup was quick and easy. The unit has a small profile so it doesn™€™t take up too much space and can easily be maneuvered around. Maintenance is easy as well - cleaning the filters and draining any condensed water is simple and quick. This is a godsend as we head into warm weather.

Installing this air conditioner was honestly very easy. The hardest part was just getting it out of the box, but after that the setup was very straightforward. The pieces that come with it for the window are simple to understand, so the whole process didn™€™t take long at all. Once it was in place, I just rolled it to where I wanted it and connected everything. It™€™s a compact unit, so it fits nicely in smaller spaces without taking over the whole room, which I really like. In terms of performance, it does a good job keeping the room comfortable. I would say it works best in places that aren™€™t extremely hot, but it definitely makes a noticeable difference. The air feels cooler and the space becomes much more pleasant, especially during warm days.

Lightweight A/C on wheels is easy to set up

I selected this GE portable A/C unit because I live in an old house and my central A/C doesn™€™t cool some of the rooms very well. This is a nice sized unit to use in a smaller bedroom or office. It weighs about 40 pounds but has roller feet, so it™€™s easy to move in and out of a closet when not being used. For years, I struggled with lifting a heavy window A/C into place. I worried that it would damage my old window frames, and I was always concerned that someone might break in while I was sleeping or away from home. I love that this portable unit does not have to be lifted into the window. The plastic window panel is very easy to install. You have the option of screwing it in place, or it would be very easy to remove it from the window when not in use, so you can secure and lock the window again. I was intimidated about setting this unit up as I unpacked the box, since it seemed to have a lot of parts! However, the instructions are short and it turned out to be a very simple process. There are extra parts included to fit a variety of window configurations, and they also provide foam insulation to cover any gaps in the window panel. There is also a drainage hose and a remote control included. I set my A/C up in a couple minutes, plugged it in, and it was running nice and cold. The noise of the fan is pretty loud, even on the quiet setting, however, I find it to be fairly standard as far as A/C units go. One downside of a portable A/C is that it does need to be situated 20 inches away from any walls or furniture when in use. Overall, I think this is a great product for those of us unable or unwilling to wrestle with a heavy window A/C. I received this product for free in exchange for my honest feedback.

The GE 5000 BTU portable air-conditioning is a great product. The installation was pretty straightforward. It has a very nice appearance and it™€™s been a very effective cooling the small room especially in high temperature since it was installed. It does not take much space. And it™€™s easy to move is needed. The dehumidifier function is a big plus. It™€™s energy efficient. I would say this is a dependable unit and performs very well in the bedroom that was installed in. This is a low maintenance unit. Has continues airflow. It™€™s ideal for bedrooms. I would highly recommend this product.

Compact cooling AC that works

The last few days were hot up to 95 degree F, so I felt so glad to have the GE 5000 BTU portable air conditioner delivered right on time to test it out. I set it up in my bedroom and it has been a great addition, especially since I needed something compact that wouldn™€™t take over the space. It was easy to install, the window kit fit without any trouble, and the unit itself wasn™€™t too heavy to move into place. Once set up, it blended in nicely because it™€™s small, simple looking, and doesn™€™t feel bulky at all. The cooling performance has been solid for a bedroom, bringing the temperature down quickly and keeping the room comfortable without blasting overly cold air. The auto evaporation system has been a huge plus because I don™€™t have to worry about emptying a water bucket, which makes it feel even more low maintenance. The noose level is just steady hum that fades into the background after a few minutes.

This is a fantastic little unit for a small room. My room is 15 by 10 and it cools the room fantastic.The installation process was simple and quick, and within minutes of turning it on, i could already feel the room cooling down.Even on hot afternoon,the temperature stays comfortably crisp without any annoying hum or rattling noises. I love that it doesn™€™t take up much space, and the portability means i can easily wheel it to another room if needed. The remote control is responsive, and the dehumidifier function is a bonus during muggy days. It™€™s energy-definitely exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend, very energy efficient too.
