This refriderator is great, EXCEPT I can't get used to a 12V DC fan that runs most of the time, GE said this is normal and I don't see that fan running for 15-20 years. I guess I'll have to get used to it cause I like GE products, wish I could more information about that 12V DC fan that runs most of the time, wish me luck! Follow up, so my GSS23GYPFCFS GE Refridgerator finally settled down and it's a shame really couldn't get a simple answer from all resources including GE (this model doesn't have a turbo function) why a circulation fan in the feezer department continually runs, so bottom line is this refriderator is a great appliance hope I get at least 10-15 years out of it!

Great fridge! I love the lighting. Install was great. On time and very helpful. I live alone so house is quiet. My 25 year old Kenmore was never this loud. Generally it is just loud. I thought having a new appliance would be quiet, but this one isn™€™t. I would return it if it wouldn™€™t be such a hassle.

Terrible - Broke within a year

Fridge/Freezer temperature started going up in both sides of the unit about a year after we purchased it. Looking into it, the freezer had ice build-up all along the backside, so we started defrosting it about every 4 months. Finally got sick of doing that after a few years and called a repair man. He said that the defroster sensor is broken and to fix it would cost the same as buying a new fridge. He also suggested purchasing a Fridgedaire the next time around!

Good side by side for two people.

This fridge was installed in a new apartment we are renting, so it was not our choice. However, it's a good sized fridge for two seniors, we get a supermarket delivery about twice a week, and don't do a great deal of cooking, but that does mean we have more prepared meals than fresh ingredients. Door capacity is good for drinks, dairy etc, but no dedicated egg tray and just one closed compartment. There are two drawers in the bottom for fruit and veg, only one of which has humidity control. My only reservation, after living with it for a week, is that the water dispenser, whilst filtered, is not as chilled as I'd expect. There is an ice dispenser, but like all ice dispensers, the crushed ice tends to fly everywhere. There is a drip tray under the water dispenser that needs emptying very frequently.

The refrigerator space is amazing. The freezer is a joke. I thought I was missing a shelf/drawer. Nope. Look closer. A standard ice pack won't fit horizontally on the freezer door bin. There is no drawer so loose popsicles, etc will need something additional. It's probably half the size of my previous freezer which I already thought was too small. So if you want any functional freezer space this is not the one for you.

It's a nice big fridge/freezer - lots of room in the fridge side, but the freezer side is really small - and it's the noisiest fridge we've ever had - I can hear it from the bedroom - it is NOISY!!!! I just mean the general sound of it running - it's LOUD. Really irritates me. Our previous frigidaire was silent, other than when ice was being made and you'd hear the sound of ice dropping, but this one has a constant 24/7 noise that is very annoying. i've NEVER heard of anyone else's fridge/freezer making noise like this!!!!

The freezer is too small; I feel like it should have come with another shelf. Also, the compartment holders on the freezer door are too thick, making them almost unusable. Cold frig space is adequate for its size, but once again, it also should have come with another shelf.

The refrigerator side of the combo is very accommodating. The freezer side limits optimizing the space because the shelves dont reach the back of the unir, therefore you have to balance food item in the center of the shelves. It get precarious. But the temperature is adequate the lighting is great on the fridge side. Overall it serves its purpose.

My new Refrigerator makes extremely load noise when in some cycles. Sounds like an engine running. This is not all the time, but specifically when I have opened freezer or filled a glass with ice. I have not call anyone about noise because it was a tight squeeze to install it. It had to be lifted over my stovetop counter and lowered into area. (Additionally, I have been very sick and did not feel like having to deal with it

So far so good witht he GE fridge. We are limited on space and so we can only go so big on a fridge. This fridge fits in the space just fine. Seems to keep things cool and the freezer seems to be working good. Ice maker works well also.

Missing a drawer

I bought the same refrigerator as the previous one I had for 14 years. The one thing I miss is the shallow drawer that was handy for storing lunch meats and cheese.

Good option for small spaces

Fridge is general is a really good buy, only thing to keep in mind is that the freezer is really small. Smaller than we expected.

Four broken shelves

Shelves break easily. Poor quality. I've never had any broken shelves with any of my previous refrigerators. Not a single one. Ice maker doesn't work either.
