We have used this for 8 years now. No problems or challenges at all. Just accurate cooking and ease of operation and installation. It has a strong fan with 3 settings. I use the fan to clear the air in the kitchen. This model gives you the option to vent through a charcoal filler or go directly out side through outdoor vent that I installed separately. We are moving and are buying another GE microwave for all the above reasons. I give GE 5 Stars

After 22 years my original OTR microwave finally died and there were no parts so I purchased a new GE model, though not their latest version but still it had 1000W and supposedly 100 CFM fan. But the fan intake area is much smaller and it just doesn't exhaust outside well like the old one. I had the vent pipe (4" diameter) inspected and it is all in order but the venting is still rather weak though one can feel the air move by but only really on BOOST mode and is is very loud on that mode. So I am disappointed but it will have to do until I remodel. I am a tried and true GE fan because of their repair and service and I've had good luck with all the older stuff from Washing machines to Ranges .I should have gone and looked better at the underside and seen the small vents but I figured that the 400 cfm (my old one was only 300 cfm) would do the trick but it really does not, at least not like the one it replaced. That wasn't perfect but it had more draft for sure. It is a great microwave and good solid company and service, I just picked wrong with this one for my needs.

Purchased GE microwave, stove and fridge as part of kitchen remodel/update. We were very happy with look and performance before the microwave totally quit heating.
Longevity VERY poor. Will not heat anymore after ~24 mos of use. All other microwaves (GE's have been the majority) I have purchased have lasted 7+ years before they were replaced. We used daily, kept clean and the microwave quit working already. Expected much better out of the product.

I purchased a new home about 2 years ago. This Microwave came with the home as a standard appliance. I am a senior citizen and expected this Microwave to last at least 5 years or more. It stopped heating the food. I feel GE has let me down by manufacturing this substandard item.

We tried to be so careful when shopping for a new OTR Micrwave Oven. We looked at many brands but selected this GE Model. We were immediately disappointed, but it is not possible to return the oven. The lighted clock is so bright that it is almost impossible to see the time. We will look for a smoke colored acetate or something to put over the clock. We do not understand why the GE engineers designed this with super HOT halogen bulbs that need to be replaced when cool bright LED lighting that lasts forever is now available. We dislike the charcoal filter that needs to be replaced every 7 months. The control panel is not user friendly. BIG MISTAKE when we purchased this microwave.

Used frequently, didn™™t have any issues. 3.5 years in, used as usual, and it started popping and a strong smell of something electrical burning started coming from it. Tried to use it again a while after, same issue. Vent fan still works fine, so not a power supply issue. (range microwave)

So many O-T-R microwaves look goofy or messy. This one has a nice clean look. It is high quality, and the vent fan pulls odors and steam out of my kitchen quickly (vented outdoors).

This microwave last only 14 months and because of the terrible warranty that GE has, I am out of luck and wasted a lot of money for something that doesnt work. It literally died, no warning or anything.

We bought this a couple of months ago and have been really happy with the product. There is tons of room inside to microwave multiple dishes as once. The only down side is what the rack is in, there is not enough room to microwave anything in a taller bowl or a bowl with a lid.

Had a previous GE microwave that last 12 years without one problem. Two months after this microwave was installed, it is dead. Repair person coming in a week and will have to see if it can be revived.

Was one of only a few microwaves that has an extension kit that can make it fit a 36" wide space. Although I couldn't get the installers from the store where I purchased it to install it with the extension kit on it, I was able to do it myself fairly easily. The only issue I had at all, was that I had to figure out that I had to buy a special Torx security bit for 2 of the screws on the microwave that hat to be removed in order to attach the extension kit. There was no mention of that in the installation instructions.

Worked great for 4 months, then the transformer went out. It was still under warranty, so GE sent a repairman to fix it and everything is working great again. It does what I need it to do and so did the warranty.

The extra space (Cu In) inside was created by make the walls thinner and the interior contoured to the various components that stick out. As a result, the inside in very irregular, making cleaning the inside a bit more challenging.

First microwave arrived damaged from the factory; second microwave did not work; finally got the third one and it appears to be working but controls are sensitive; you must press the buttons exactly right in order for the information to be captured.

This is the 3rd GE microwave we have had. After a few months we had a light burn out. Other than that we have found this particular model more difficult to use. The settings are more complicated to use than previous models we've had. The learning curve is longer.

This unit was a pain at first because it required an overhead cabinet to mount, (my old unit did not). But after I solved the problem of the mounting we discovered that this is a much better unit and have continued to explore it's features. My wife is very pleased.

This is a replacement for another GE microwave that I've had for 13 years. This one seems to be cheaply made compared to the old one. If the door had a little insulation it would sound a lot better when you close it.
