I replaced this microwave above my range. Installation was smooth with a slight adjustment. The brackets to hold the trim kit in place proved to be a bit challenging. The new microwave has same controls as the old one and some added features. I like it!

Replacement model a disappointment

Bought this sight unseen to replace almost identical model that quit after 12 years. The interior is very dark unlike the last one that had a light interior. Lightbulb is also disappointing. My husband and I find this to be a BIG problem.

This microwave replaced a Whirlpool model that was original to our home. 1993 date of manufacture. Amazing what they're capable of now. And it matches our GE wall oven that it's installed above. We love it so far. And installation was a snap.

Door doesn™€™t open easily. Unit seems to generate a lot of fumes inside when I open door after using there is a lot of smoke or mist inside unit. I never experienced this with my other GE microwave

I swore I was done with GE Profile brand a few years ago. I had to buy one to replace an existing just because of size. I ordered it and it didn't work. It wasn't damaged in shipping, it just didn't work. Par for the course for that product line. We had to return it and only when it got returned would they reimburse. There was now chance in heck I was ordering another and get billed again and be out another $500. Ridiculous. We now have a Sharp in it's place.

Easy to operate, especially with multiple one-touch buttons. Plenty of interior capacity with appropriate HWD dimensional ratios. Power is great and energy is distributed well so there aren™€™t hot spots that can burn popcorn.

The microwave is a mix between very basic and moderately featured. The selections offer options without onscreen definitions, and some offer nothing more and seem to over heat the item. For example the melt/soften offer options, but there is no definition to assist with the selection. The beverage choice has zero power or size offering, and always boils the large cup if left for the entire time. For the price I had expected a bit more from GE.

Inadequate interior lighting

Wish I would have noticed that the interior is dark gray and the interior light is inadequate. The first thing I used the microwave for was boiling a cup of water and I could not see inside to monitor the progress! I tried using a flashlight but it reflects off the door. This is a major design flaw. Also, I never use the WIFI feature on appliances and the WIFI button is a waste of space.

Elegant, Quietly powerful

This understated elegant GE microwave is a perfect fit replacement for our 23 years old GE profile JE1860 1.5 cuft. This PCST22UU1WSS capacity is also 2.2 cuft an increase of 46%. The old trim set can be used as is. The wattage power is also noticeably more effective. The controls are well positioned giving it more inside space. Beautifully designed and manufactured. There's a WiFi function that we still need to find out what it does. ðŸ˜

I replaced my microwave with the same version but updated model since my model was no longer manufactured. Virtually identical microwave, but it DID NOT fit my existing GE trim kit. I placed my old broken microwave in the new box and threw it away so I'm not sure if i can return the new one that doesn't fit the trim kit. So unbelievably frustrated.

Unnecessary planned obsolescence

This is a replacement for a near identical microwave except. It is more cheaply made than the original. Configuration of bottom was changed so new base and trim unit was necessary. The only reason this was changed is to force people to buy an expensive base and trim unit. I see no need for it to have been changed otherwise.

I™€™ve submitted the question here and even called to get tech support and nobody can help me. I would NEVER have bought it if I™€™d known this very loud repeated beeping couldn™€™t be silenced. I haven™€™t even seen a microwave that didn™€™t have a sound off option since the 1990™€™s. Don™€™t buy this one if you care about the sound.

A decent microwave, but they decided to remove the useful mute button and replace it with an entirely useless WIFI button. Also the instruction manual does NOT match this model of microwave, so good luck figuring out how to work things using that.
