Bought Item in Home depot Ponce PR. Home depot offers only 7 days returns. Not satisfied at all. Efficiency, noise and Not such thing a portability. Bought this unit to make the room of my ill dad more comfortable, and had more issues that what I imagine. On top of that , casing of hoses just cracked, need to order piece if I want the unit to be used. Do not waste your money. Buy a window air conditioner and you will not regret it.

AC died after two days

I purchased this AC unit in Puerto Rico from Home Depot and at the beginning was working fine and cooling the room. But after two days the unit started shutting off on its own and stopped cooling. It just blows hot air and and shuts off on it's own. I checked the filters and they were clean. There's was no water accumulated. Right now I'm out of spent over $500 for this unit that died in two days and I can't return it to Home Depot because it's used.

Failed a month and a half in due to what seems like cheap sensor. I'll never know because GE will not do a thing to help. You will float down the muddy river of call centers and email chains. They will try to get you to put your own money out AGAIN for 8 to 10 weeks and send you a voucher that's straight from 1977. If you don't happen to have extra money laying around you can try arguing with them and they will refuse to give you back your money. That is until they realize everyone around us wised up and stopped working with them. Another week will go by and they will agree to give your money back after you send photographic proof that you still have their hulking defective paperweight in your way too hot room. You will be asked to give them another 7 to 10 days and then a team will "reach out". This team will of course not "reach out". They will show up at your house unannounced on a random afternoon so they can blame you. You will wait 5 more days for when they say they'll be back. What time? That's apparently none of your business. So, I'm still sitting here, too hot, out close to 700 dollars, and looking to keep a Monday cleared so the men in black can come take their junk and maybe, just maybe, give me my own money back. I would spare yourself this adventure and buy from anyone else if I were you.

Air conditioner is quiet and cools well. Dual-hose portables are scarce, and I needed a good capacity AC but only have a very small window (~19" wide). Very well packaged. Installation instructions are terrible for the window kit. The diagrams are TINY, and don't even show what direction the hose plate is supposed to face, or even what is the top or bottom. It comes with a bag full of plastic clips with no explanation what they're for. Some thin insulation is included, but isn't precut for the hose plate. It's expected that two screws will be used to hold the hose plate at the necessary width, but it's actually impossible to use or tighten the lower screw and still install into the window frame. In operation, the exhaust hose gets HOT, and should have at least some minimal insulation supplied. I used the SmartHQ app to add the AC to my WiFi network; it uses Bluetooth to make the initial connection, but the pairing process is best described as confusing, and required several attempts. Once it was connected, I used the Home Assistant SmartHQ integration to automate operation. The supplied remote is fairly well thought out, but requires careful aim for the IR sensor to pick it up, even from only a few feet away. It was supplied with a pair of Chinese *carbon zinc* batteries. This is beyond cheapness for a Profile product. Where the intake hose connects to the chassis is a small metal grill to keep debris out, but it's not very fine, and would only block birds. It was also not installed properly, and doesn't stay in the slots provided; I put a drop of RTV silicone on each leg to hold it in place. I'm giving the product 4 stars because it operates very well, but the installation experience is exceptionally poor. I even watched the manufacturer's installation videos on YouTube; those also completely gloss over the window installation, THE MOST DIFFICULT PART.

I did not care for this air conditioner. It is extremely overpriced, very heavy and makes a lot of noise. It also has to be emptied very often and I didn't want to deal with water. You also have to be careful because the return policy on these is absolutely ridiculous because of air conditioner fraud something I didn't know about. Because people buy them during heat waves and then return them immediately I think you have 48 hours to 7 days to return it and you can't return it if it's been used.

First unit failure, wifi connect many issues

First unit was returned, it powered up and everything appeared ok, including the inverter humming, but it never cooled down. Evaporator cool was always room temp. No error codes. Best Buy took the exchange. Luckily, the replacement unit worked right away. Wifi connect with phone and smartHQ app are terrible to setup. At least 20 attempts to install the app, connect BT, setup wifi and connect to cloud. I had to uninstall the app, forget the BT connect, and retry. The failure was usually the either "finishing cloud" de*th cycle. The 2.4 wifi AP is 10 ft away, so it's not the AP, signal strength or network. A premium product should not be so hard to setup. Lastly, the features available on the remote , the actual unit and the smartHQ app are similar , but some are missing features. Why can't they all be the same? The replacement unit seems to be working now, and working well. I would expect better from GE Profile.

I can cool my room with the fan speed on 'Low' Better than to name one other Brand The "Whynter" AC Unit with the fan speed on "High" Plus the Whynter AC Unit compressor would shut off randomly...Yes my New GE Profile AC Unit Cools down the room on the Low fan speed better than others on the High fan speed. It works so well i have to turn the Temperature setting - down because it cools the room so well which saves me money on my Power bill. I Have only had this GE Profile AC Unit using it for 4 days now therefore i hope it continues to work as well only time will tell so We shall see. Thank you GE for a great Portable AC Unit. The first unit we purchased was dead on arrival. The second unit, despite self evap, would soak the carpet, and was returned. The motor was vibrating so much the outside of the unit was shaking and making a low hum from upstairs that is audible throughout the house. Quality control is terrible on these and I'm very let down with the product.

This unit has functioned well and has made our 3 season cabin much more pleasant this summer. Hookup went easily without complications to a double hung window. The controls were self-explanatory to me. It's undersized for our space. Add to that, minimal insulation in the ceiling it's really not a fair fight. But just dropping the humidity makes a world of difference. Even at full power, it's not very loud. We can easily carry on a conversation near it. The downsides I can list are really nits and I think most portable units like this share the same issues. The drain for the internal reservoir is very close to the floor, making draining it a bit of a pain. But after running it almost nonstop for two weeks only resulted in less than a cup of condensate (our humidity outside ranged from 80 to 97 percent). The unit comes with a remote control but it was a little flaky. If I didn't start it with the remote, the remote didn't seem to work properly. I'd be happy buying another unit like this but I'd probably pay the extra $60 and get the model that can heat as well as cool. Overall this unit has worked without issues.

We really love this a/c. It's powerful, quiet, and easy to install. My only gripe(s), perhaps worth a 1/2-star deduction, are that the remote doesn't work (at all, even when pointed directly at the unit from 1" away; it beeps like it's registering your command, but the a/c doesn't respond), and I'm not sure how much it costs to run. My electric bill spiked 25% after the first month of use.

Overall, I am very satisfied with this portable air conditioner. It did not arrive very well. The exterior box was greatly damaged and those plastic straps were broken. I was even concerned the unit might have been damaged but upon opening it, the unit was perfectly fine. It had arrived with all the accessories needed, including extra window panels and foam tape. Instructions say it will take about an hour, but I put mine in less than 10 minutes. Immediately after turning it on the air was ice cold. The instrument panel is very easy to use. The remote works great and I did not know it even has a Wi-Fi feature to use it remotely. The cord is not the longest, so you might need an extension cord. I personally do not think it weighs very much, as I carried it by myself up two flights of stairs. The noise it produces is pretty in line with that of a typical window air conditioning unit, not loud but not quiet. This unit would probably be perfect for a small studio, loft or an office, but probably not anything much larger than that. It rolls around, so you don't have to pick it up to move it. I absolutely love the unit

I tried GE Profile 10,000 BTU Dual-Hose, Inverter Portable Air Conditioner/ Dehumidifier in exchange for my honest review. I am truly impressed with this AC unit. Over the past couple weeks there has been an insane heat wave in the Midwest with temps above 100 degrees F. My HVAC system cannot handle those temps. I hooked up this GE portable unit in my mid size kitchen. All the components to adhere hosing to the window were included. This unit had been saving my families sanity. It keeps temp low and removes humidity. There are many settings (with luminous LED display) and allows you to adjust the actual temp, not just low,high,etc. This unit also comes with a remote and WiFi capabilities. There is a lever that moves up and down to blow the cool air. I™™m really loving this unit. It is also beautiful to not have the standard window unit hanging outside. You can barely tell this unit is there from the outside. The 10,000 BTU unit keeps my medium size kitchen cool and even sends cool air to the living room (albeit not as well). Definitely recommend this GE unit! ™ï¸

Man this was so easy to set up ! It cooled my bedroom down so amazingly well. I was having a hard time sleeping at night . It™™s ultra quiet .
